news from Pearlworld
Welcome to Autumn.
The colourful season.
(But for heat lovers, it's still summer somewhere.)
So, what's new? Work on the the pet radish, shrunken is coming along. We're in the final edit round. We're coming up covers. Probably can give you all a sneak peak in the next newsletter.
I sold out of the first print run of this spring's Quebec Passages this fall.
Coming this November, a new chapbook by phafours by Monty Reid! It may make you squeal and squirm. It's all about microorganisms. Also excited to say that this fall a mini chapbook after Larry Eigner by Phil Hall.
Over at my author site www.pearlpirie.com/interviews there's a couple new addition in the interviews section including talking about trees, and the Vertigoheel for the Dilly chapbook. There's also a new tab of resources of poetry tools, including a handout on rhythm in poetry.
The CKCU tab has an archive of the Literary Landscape shows I've done. The next one is live at 93.1fm in Ottawa Thursday Oct 16th at 6:30pm (or podcasting from CKCUfm.com). There will be two guests. One is Roland Prevost whose new book Singular Plurals. It will launch at the Ottawa Writers Festival with new collections from Monty Reid and Amanda Earl as well. So get your buying budget ready to fit those too.
That launch will be on Ottawa election night, Oct 27th. Early vote is Oct 17 and all day the 27th. Get in early. But not often.

Also on the Oct 16th Literary Landscape show is Shery Alexander Heinis who launched her first chapbook this summer. It's called A Greater Whole.
Here's the pretty cover of that chapbook I put together for it. She's launching it at series all around town.
She's got a blog at http://wholefullness.com/ She's also on twitter at @wholefullness
The 3rd recipe column for the Centretown Buzz is out in mid-October. Watch for Planet of the Scapes online here or in Centretown stores including Herb & Spice on Bank St.
Over at Humanyms things have been slower as various writing projects and home renovations take front stage. At pesbo things will pick up for a while as I put out the next sections of quotes and reflections on books I've completed reading. Naturally most are poetry but some biographies have crept in as well. For the 95 books project since the last update I have moved from book 80 to book 103.
Until next time, keep reading and keep writing,
Pearl
