Classes, Ottawa events & opportunities
News since the spring email? I have a book placed with Radiant Press for the fall of 2020. I have a chapbook placed for release at the end of 2020. Mostly I am teaching and getting paid gigs where I can. Note the snazzy new logo for Studio Nouveau below.

Want to get your poetry mind in higher gear this year? Have poems at an impasse that you want out the door before New Years? The classes have forums to share with fellow poets (closed to the public) and in each class you can send me 6-10 poems for direct feedback. As well, each has readings and exercises to bring up your game.

Opportunities: Tree Reading Series will be shortly entering its 40th year. The organization is looking for a new treasurer and directors. To ease succession they need expressions of interest by Oct 1st or the series may fold in spring 2020. Nov 15-17 is Laureate City 2. VERSeFest brings poet laureates from across Canada to Ottawa to give readings, do discussions. Free to the public except a brunch with poets. Check it out.
Nov 20-22 is The Republic of Childhood. WritersFest brings this forum to bring together writers, educators and the children of Ottawa to share what children envision. The class I worked with a poet in classroom will share their work Nov 20th. Again, free events, but they ask for registration.
The afternoon of Nov 26 is the ottawa small press fair at the Jack Purcell community centre. Come to see the new publications I have made and scoop up some delicious small press goodnesses.l
Lastly a reminder to register for my classes if you can. They are self-paced and begin Nov 10th. They are offered online and each come with an opportunity for one-on-one feedback for 6-10 poems.
