The big news
There is a fundraiser on for Tree to thicken up the account and bring more excellent authors to Ottawa, and to pay those who are there. If you would like to contribute, https://www.gofundme.com/treereadingseries
There are perks including an edit session on your poem, free books and being thanked as sponsor. Tree has been going for 38 years and whoever's hands it will be by year 40, it would be great to see Tree maintaining its high standards.

Entering A Slow Phase
I stopped going to weekly workshops a couple years ago. I seem to have largely stopped blogging and took down a few. I've cut back on what I attend, and even then was still running on fumes. I seem to be not taking photos to any degree. I'm worn out and am dialling my commitments way back. Time to regroup my energies.
I closed my small press in December. I stepped down from the radio show this spring. Or what we'll call spring despite it being on snow storm alert again. Liam Burke has joined the roster of hosts at CKCU Literary Landscape.
I'm on hiatus from president of KaDo. At the end of my term as Tree director in March I did not stand for reelection and an 8-member board is doing what I was.
I didn't make it to VERSeFest, nor is Writers Fest looking likely. I do hope to make it to the Haiku Canada Weekend.
I judged the George Johnson Poetry prize this winter, and still look forward to hearing whose poems I picked in the blind judging.
This is all big structural changes, but a good thing. Slowing my pace way down, finding centre, making space for others to lead.

Upcoming
It seems a long time away, summer. The only firm booking is for the Resonance Reading Series, Montreal at Cafe Resonance on July 3, 2018.
Upcoming is also the launch of the Gush anthology, probably in summer in Ottawa, and in November, The Best Canadian Poetry in English: 2018. My poem will be included in that. It may launch in either Toronto and/or Ottawa. I might be in another anthology in the following year depending on publishing schedules.
I have a couple manuscripts circulating, but that's not going to yield a yes or no anytime soon.
Keep reading, keep appreciating,
Pearl
